The Feedback Lounge in West Seattle was proud to host Layne Staley Tribute Pre-Party on Friday August 21, 2009.

There was lots of food & drink specials and we gave away some great prizes including Eddie Kowalczyk Meet & Greet passes to a few lucky L'Angels.

For the first time in Layne Staley Fund history, we sold our collectible 2009 Layne Staley Tribute t-shirts at the Pre-Show. You can get these gorgeous shirts, designed specifically for this year's Tribute, at the Store page.

There was a special raffle, an opportunity to sign the 2009 L'Angels wall & an exclusive sneak peak at this year's L'Angels slideshow, that played at the August 22 Tribute. Proceeds raised at the Pre-Party on Aug 21 and the Tribute on Aug 22, go toward heroin recovery.

A special "thank you" to Jeff Gilbert, owner of The Feedback Lounge, for his generous support.

About the Tribute & Benefit:

Every year in mid-August, Layne Staley Fund celebrates Layne's birthday by putting on its annual tribute & benefit concert. If you've attended one of our tributes in the past, you know it's a lot more than a rockin' concert!

The Tribute Team takes extra care to create a close, personal experience that shares our love of Layne and our message of hope to everyone by having special guests and surprises throughout the evening.

Raffles, a silent auction, and our merchandise booth debut the official Layne Staley Fund Tribute poster, t-shirt and calendar designed especially for the Tribute year. Proceeds from the tribute, merchandise sales, raffles, and donations go toward funding heroin recovery in the Seattle music community.

Donations made to Layne Staley Fund during the months of May, June, July, and August will go directly to bringing our headlining bands to the 8th Annual Tribute.

Donations can be made on here or mailed to Layne Staley Fund, P.O. Box 40531, Bellevue, WA 98015.

8th Annual Layne Staley Tribute
Saturday August 22, 2009
Showbox at the Market, Seattle

The Board of Directors of Layne Staley Fund invites you to help make a difference in the lives of Seattle musicians who are struggling with heroin addiction.

On what would have been his 42nd birthday, Layne Staley's family, friends and fans will come together to celebrate the life of the former Alice In Chains lead singer, who died of heroin addiction in 2002.

On August 22, the eigth annual tribute and benefit will be held at The Showbox at the Market, Seattle. Previous years' tributes have drawn supporters from all over the world. See our gallery of photos by visiting www.laynestaleyfund.com

Our vision is to turn the tragedy of Layne’s death into an avenue of hope for those who suffer. The mission of Layne Staley Fund is to provide hope, awareness, education, support and treatment funds for heroin recovery in the Seattle music community.

Proceeds raised at each year's tribute are donated to Therapeutic Health Services, Seattle, Layne Staley Memorial Fund, an endowment which now stands at $85,000. Once reaching our goal of $100,000, interest is designated for supporting Seattle musicians seeking heroin treatment. We picture musicians-in-recovery spreading this vision onstage to fans worldwide.

"Thank you"--in advance--for your generosity and important financial support.
